Ali believes there is a lack of opportunity for multicultural youth access education, employment opportunities and services due to cultural differences which hampers their ability to integrate into mainstream society. Together with Ahmed Hassan, Director of YAY, he has been able to successfully engage with government, NGOs, universities and many other stakeholders to help improve access to education and employment opportunities for many marginalised multicultural youth in Melbourne.
Ali is a qualified counsellor and has a focus on supporting and advocating for disadvantaged youth. He has a demonstrated ability to build capability and engagement in diverse communities, youth, families and various other stakeholders to deliver results and through a collaborative and authentic leadership style.
